Blind Tasting Thick-Skinned Red Wines
THICK-SKINNED CLASSICS: Dive into the classic thick-skinned red grape varieties in this advanced blind tasting class.
Description
Master Sommelier David Glancy helps students tackle the most challenging flights of wines from thick-skinned red grapes. Explore examples from jammy to tannic to identify the similarities and differences in each grape. Discuss the major regions globally as you learn to decipher the differences in regional versus varietal identity.
This class can be taken as part of the Advanced Blind Tasting educational series or individually à la carte. Your class fees can be applied to the cost of the series tuition if you would like to continue on. Payment plans are available for the full series. Format & Location
Hybrid - Room/Zoom
Our Hybrid Room/Zoom experience allows each individual to choose to participate in-person as a "Roomer" with wine in their glass or online as a "Zoomer" with a custom tasting kit. Both Roomers and Zoomers have the same wines and are able to engage with us and each other during these live classes. Recordings are also available within 1 business day after the class. If you have a tasting kit, it may be picked up at San Francisco Wine School or delivered across the US. Wine parameter lists are available for those participating in locations where kits cannot be delivered. View pickup and delivery options here.

All attendees must be at least 21+ years old.
This is an advanced blind tasting class. Students are strongly encouraged to complete Intro to Blind Tasting and Intermediate Blind Tasting prior to joining this class.
