Who We Are
San Francisco Wine School was founded by Master Sommelier David Glancy in 2011 to make wine education more engaging and effective within the beverage and hospitality industries.
David currently sits on the board of directors for the Society of Wine Educators and is one of only 12 Master Sommeliers in the world to also pass their Certified Wine Educator exam. Previously, at the Professional Culinary Institute, he created and taught the only Certified Sommelier Program approved by Court of Master Sommeliers. He was also on the Editorial Advisory Board of Sommelier Journal.
In 2012 David pioneered the first ever in-depth professional credential program on California wine. It fills a crucial need in the market and has received support from various grower associations and Wine Institute.
Led by David Glancy, our team of elite, highly trained instructors provide world-class wine education across a range of areas, including five carefully selected professional certification programs.
