Zach discovered his love for wine early on in his tenure in the hospitality industry, working in various venues throughout the country including New Orleans, New York and the San Francisco bay area. His experience includes many years as a sommelier, consultant and educator, including a long career as Beverage Director for Foreign Cinema restaurant in San Francisco.  Zach has also participated in various wine tasting panels including the San Francisco Chronicle, Wine & Spirits Magazine, and judged for the Santa Cruz Wine Mountains Commercial Wine Competition. He's designed and led corporate wine tastings, tours, and workshops for both the trade and amateur wine lovers alike in addition to his work as a wine educator with the San Francisco Wine School and the WSET.

He holds the Diploma in Wines & Spirits from the WSET, the Certified Wine Educator credential with the Society of Wine Educators, the FWS with French Wine Society, and is a French Wine Scholar Instructor and Certified Instructor with the WSET.

Following extensive travels across the globe – both wine-related and otherwise – he is now the Beverage Director for Lazy Bear Restaurant in San Francisco.

Residing in France for the past four months has been an amazing, enlightening experience. Plenty of traveling, both in and out of France, has enriched my life in ways I never thought possible. My one complaint, if you will indulge me, has been the weather.
