Job Summary:
Farmington Country Club seeks a Beverage Manager with a passion for excellence in beverage management's operational and creative aspects. The role demands a forward-thinking leader committed to maintaining the highest quality and service standards, adept in budget management, menu innovation, and team leadership, and passionate about enhancing the beverage experience for our members.
Key Responsibilities:
• Quality and Service Management: Manage all aspects of beverage service to maintainconsistently high standards of quality and service across the club.
• Service Excellence: Uphold and enhance the club's high standards of beverage quality andmember service through effective management.
• Budget Management: Participate in developing the annual beverage budget, ensuring allobjectives are met through careful planning and execution.
• Requisition and Inventory Control: Oversee beverage requisition and inventory proceduresto ensure accurate, efficient ordering and distribution to various outlets
.• Menu Development: Articulate overall vision for club beverage program. Guide outlet’sbeverage menu development, aiming for club-wide consistency in product and service. This includes assisting with pricing wines and beverages for restaurant and banquet eventofferings.
• Inventory Assistance: Play a key role in managing beer, wine, and liquor inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels and variety for club operations. Manage COGS and maintain budget goals.
• Wine Society Leadership: Direct the Wine Society's activities, including crafting a monthly newsletter, organizing wine tastings, coordinating quarterly wine dinners, and managing member billing related to society events.
Qualifications:
• Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years in a similar role within a restaurant, resort, hotel, or club environment is required.
• Proven track record in beverage management within a high-end or luxury hospitality setting.
• Strong familiarity with budget management, inventory controls, and menu development
.• Exceptional leadership qualities and the ability to inspire and train a team
.• Comprehensive understanding of Virginia ABC regulations and compliance standards.
• Passionate about following wine and beverage trends, with a desire to create engaging and relevant member experiences.
• Certification:
TIPS Trainer certification, WSET Level 2, or Court of Master Sommeliers Level 2 preferred.
• Education: A college degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field is advantageous or equivalent experience
.• Technical Skills: Working knowledge of inventory software programs is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
• Capable of standing and moving for extended periods during shifts.
• Able to lift and carry stock weighing up to 55 pounds.
Club Highlights:
Farmington Country Club is a premier, full-service private club in Central Virginia. Farmington is amember-owned club founded in 1927, and recognized as a Platinum Club of America. Portions of theclubhouse date to 1780 and were designed by Thomas Jefferson.
