Society of Wine Educators

The Society of Wine Educators (SWE) offers two highly regarded wine certifications through examination — Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) and Certified Wine Educator (CWE) — in addition to the entry-level Hospitality/Beverage Specialist Certificate (HBSC) that we use in our Somm Essentials Program. We provide learning opportunities to pursue all three credentials. 

San Francisco Wine School is a SWE-approved educational provider, which means that you’ll have access to informed, high-quality classes and learning paths that you can’t get anywhere else. Plus, we’ve got in-house expertise on SWE certifications: Our founder, Master Sommelier David Glancy, is a CSW, a CWE, and a former Society of Wine Educators board member. (Yeah, he’s a bit of an overachiever.) Not to mention that our COO, Kristin Campbell, is currently a SWE board member.
