Chef / Owner Paul Magu trained in 2-3 star kitchens in Paris, and was most recently at the Ritz Carlton as sous chef, and the St Regis San Francisco as executive sous chef. REVE (dream in French) was opened to bring a classic French bistro to the East Bay. Run by Paul & his wife Laura, we are very involved in the day to day operations. We maintain 4.6 stars - 4.7 stars on YELP & OpenTable. Voted "readers choice" for French restaurant in the East Bay Times, and were recently featured on Check Please! Bay Area - all three guests happy.

This is a new position for us, as until recently we have had a server / manager combo. We have decided that we need someone to focus exclusively on management, training, and taking us to the "next level".

Duties include:

Wine list management. Currently aprox 80 bottle list 80% French 20% California. Work with vendors / chef to make sure wine reflects items that guests want and compliment our menu. Develop wine inventory / tracking system. Develop training programs for staff & wine / food specials with the chef.

Staff management. Work with owner to create training / incentive programs to ensure the staff is knowledgeable and working together for maximum benefit. Assist in hiring, terminating and scheduling.

Guest Interaction - Be present on the floor during service to assist with wine sales, overall service, and guest satisfaction. Assist in guest recognition program or other ways to WOW our guests & keep them coming back

Social Media - assist in marketing / IG etc

PR - attend occasional social events or trade events as a representative of REVE

Office work - develop accurate beverage management system & maintain. Create SOP data base for FOH positions / duties. Must be proficient in Word & Excel

We are closed all major holidays (open NYE) and two weeks in August.

About the search: The Client Service Specialist(s) are the direct conduit between Vinfolio and their clients (private wine collectors and investors). Specific Job Responsibilities:
• Perform advisory and consultative wine and storage sales via email and phone to Vinfolio customers (including customers located internationally).

Direct to Consumer Sales and Marketing
• Execute DTC sales strategies that focus on substantially increasing Tasting Room net revenue, with a focus on growing the wine club
• Oversee the development of wine club offerings and identify opportunities to expand the club and improve membership retention 
• Set monthly sales goals for Tasting Room; implement incentive systems for staff and other creative sales strategies to meet targets
• Establish and implement sales promotions, and monitor corresponding Tasting Room marketing materials
• Oversee Cinnabar’s calendar of events and work special events as needed
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the community, encouraging the development of local partnerships and referral programs

Leadership and Customer Service

Tasting Room Daily Operations
• Manage daily operations to ensure they are efficient, cost-effective, and true to Cinnabar’s brand
• Create and monitor staffing schedule, run monthly staff meetings, and manage hiring processes
• Monitor Tasting Room’s POS to ensure all platforms are communicating cohesively and performing properly
• Track all inventory transfers to and from the Tasting Room, and count and reconcile inventory at month-end 
• Manage Tasting Room expenses and annual budget for DTC portion of the business; monitor KPIs and overall financial performance of the Tasting Room, wine club, and online sales


• Bachelor’s Degree
• 3 or more years of experience in the hospitality industry preferred
• 3 or more years of experience managing a team of employees, with proven track record of achieving goals
• Self-motivated team player with professional demeanor and appearance; enthusiastic, approachable, and respectful 
• General knowledge (at least) of wine and winemaking with a keen interest to learn

SFWS Hospitality Internships are offered to those students (“Interns”) who desire to obtain new skills and work experience beverage and/or hospitality industry to round out their education (“Internship”). A SFWS Employee will train, closely supervise, and give feedback on all Internship work.
