SUMMARY:

SFWS Hospitality Internships are offered to those students (“Interns”) who desire to obtain new skills and work experience beverage and/or hospitality industry to round out their education (“Internship”). A SFWS Employee will train, closely supervise, and give feedback on all Internship work. As compensation for participation in the Internship program and duties outlined below, Interns will receive $15.00 per hour compensation, for up to 120 hours, in the form of a SFWS education credit that can be used towards Programs, Workshops and Events.

Internship hours will be tracked by the Office Manager and the education credit is available for use at any time after it is earned. Compensation for Interns who earn $600 or more in educational credit will be reported to them in the form of a 1099 at the end of the year. A Form W-9 may be requested for 1099 reporting purposes may be requested in conjunction with this process.

Interns are expected to demonstrate professional work habits including but not limited to being on time, following school policies, wearing appropriate attire, being responsive to communications and following through on all student, supervisor and staff requests. Interns should exhibit a positive attitude in relation with students, fellow staff, and work as a team member, and are expected to be flexible and responsive to changes in the scope of their duties.
