How Tasting Kits Work:

Tasting kits are included in the price of most Zoomer registrations for live, online class & events to allow for distance learning. Additional bottles are available for purchase after class. Kits are created 10 days before class for those who are enrolled at the time.  An expedited kitting fee may apply for kits requested with less than 10 days notice.

Wine pickup and delivery options are presented during checkout. If you are purchasing expedited shipping after you have already registered for a class or event, please indicate your class or event in the "Note to San Francisco Wine School:" section on the Shopping Cart page before completing your checkout so we know what your shipping pertains to.  

If you register too late to receive your tasting kit in time for class, don't worry!  You will have access to the webinar recording and can revisit the class tasting once your tasting kit arrives.

Pickup & Delivery Options:

Please note that due to storage constraints and concern for the freshness of your wine, your tasting kits may be discarded if they have not been retrieved 2 weeks after your class.

Pickup at SFWS

Your wine may be collected during regular office hours are M-F 10-5 and by appointment.  You may schedule your pick up by emailing so we can have your wine ready for you.  


You may hire a courier service like Roadie to pick-up your wine and deliver it to you even in a few hours notice.  We're happy to work with them at no charge during regular office hours.  Please send the courier details to or call us at 650-763-1324.

Shipping inside CA

Shipping Outside CA

Wine can be shipped throughout the US except for the following states: Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, New Hampshire, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Vermont

*Shipping of wine tasting kits is included on the vast majority of our classes and special events, however some sponsored events may may not and wine kitting service &/or shipping fees may apply for online guests.  Any such charges will be indicated on the event registration page.  

Cold Packs

Protect your perishables with an icepack during hot summer months.  To avoid shipping delays, please indicate the order to which it pertains in the notes at checkout.

Individual Cold Packs enough to support a single tasting kit - $5 each

All Shipments:

Tasting kit shipments are at the student's own risk.  3rd party carriers no longer guarantee delivery dates or times and San Francisco Wine School is not responsible for missed deliveries or lost, delayed, or damaged wines.  Availability is not guaranteed for replacements and additional fees may apply.

All bottles are special ordered and must be prepaid. Minimums may apply and order fulfillment times may vary based upon availability at the time payment is made. No exchanges or returns are allowed. Flawed items may be returned full to receive replacement or store credit, however SFWS is not liable for temperature or physical damage while in transit. All claims must be made directly with the carrier. Wines may not be replaceable.

Additional Terms & Conditions for Shipments Outside of California:

Title to, and ownership of, all wine passes from San Francisco Wine School to the purchaser in the State of California and the purchaser takes all responsibility for the shipping of it from California to his/her home state. By arranging for transportation of the wine via common carrier, San Francisco Wine School is providing a service to, and acting on behalf of the purchaser. Payment for this service may be included in your fees or you will be billed separately depending on the above stated rates. By utilizing this service from San Francisco Wine School, the purchaser is representing that he/she is acting in a fashion compliant with his/her local and state laws regarding the purchase, transportation and delivery of wine. The purchaser represents that he/she has obtained any required permission, paid any required fees, is working through properly licensed intermediaries where required, is legally entitled to take possession of wine and is legally entitled to take quantities ordered and once again authorizes that he/she is 21 years of age.
