The CWAS® Credential Exam is the only professional certification exam exclusively based on the wines of California. The CWAS® Credential Exam is a chance to test your knowledge of the wines, regions and laws of California. The full CWAS® program may be taken with the exam at the end and the individual classes and the exam may also be taken on their own. Studying California wine is a comfortable starting point for most local wine lovers who are apprehensive about tackling European regions right off the bat. The surprising complexity and diversity of California’s regions and wines is likely to hook students into trying more new things, touring the state firsthand and studying other wine regions of the world. Visitors and transplants will find the course to be a great introduction to all that can be discovered here.
The CWAS® credential will be awarded to those that pass the rigorous exam at the end of the series with a score of 80% or higher. Set yourself apart in the increasingly competitive wine industry labor market, earn the credential and help you guide your customers through the complex and rapidly changing California wine scene. Proving your mastery of the California wine landscape will make you more marketable and help you with further studies and other organizations’ advanced credential exams.
This workshop is part of the California Wine Appellation Specialist® program. As part of this workshop, you'll taste 6-8 wines related to the curriculum.
