Wine Dojo - A Weekly Blind Tasting Workout

Notify me when space is available:

March 25:
This session will be in our normal boardroom table format with 20 minutes of silent note taking for our WSET members and then with each attendee taking 1 wine live followed by other's conclusions & my feedback. We will taste classic grapes from classic regions in classic styles. The selection may go beyond examinable grapes for CS but reasonable for MS, MW or WSET Diploma.

At a Later Date:
We will have a mock WSET Fortified session sometime in April TBD as prep for the upcoming WSET Fortified Unit Exam.
Wine Dojo is  a focused, efficient 90-minute session for tasting skill development and feedback. This ongoing blind tasting workshop offers students an opportunity to do a timed blind analysis of 6 wines then compare and discuss their analysis with Master Sommelier David Glancy. This is a must for any student looking to prepare for an upcoming certification exam, offering a consistent day and time for tasting classic wines. Leave the selection and set-up to us. Networking and socializing are welcome before or after class.

Flights vary weekly from 3 whites/3 reds to 6 wines that can easily be confused with one another. Regular attendees will have input on future session wines based on identified areas of weakness. We also make adjustments prior to attendees upcoming tasting exams as needed. Typically the first 20 minutes is silent note taking on the flight of wines (WSET style) followed by attendees taking turns evaluating & making conclusions on each wine (MS style). Many students are in WSET, SWE, &/or CMS programs. This workshop is considered a companion to the SOMM Essentials series, offering insight into the blind tasting process and covering classic varietals and styles of wine from around the world.
