San Francisco Wine School proudly welcomes special guest Madeline Puckette. Madeline is the chief design officer at Folly Enterprises and co-creator of WineFolly.com. With a background in design at California Institute of the Arts, she founded Wine Folly, an award-winning blog dedicated to consumer wine education using data visualization, internet communication strategy, and design.
The team’s latest project is a long term wine data management system called Global Wine Database (gwdb.io). This digital asset tool has the capacity to unlock never-before-imagined analytics, data standards, and networking solutions for wineries, commissions, winemakers, and wine businesses alike.
Puckette’s work with Wine Folly includes the creation of 2 books including a New York Times bestseller and a James Beard Award winner, as well as a portfolio of products including maps, prints, and wine educational tools.
As a personality, Madeline Puckette has appeared in the popular wine documentaries Somm: Into The Bottle and Somm 3 by Jason Wise. Additionally, she was awarded Wine Communicator of the Year by International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC).
