Tasting, Chemistry, and Flaws

So how do you evaluate a glass of wine? Wine education begins with this fundamental question.  In this foundational class, you'll learn deductive blind tasting technique and wine analysis vocabulary that will aid your ability to communicate and understand wine descriptors and more easily understand wines of the world for years to come. Major emphasis will be placed on assessing a wine's structure (sugar, acid, tannin and body) and identifying the climate and grapes from these clues. Wine's chemical composition will also be studied along with common flaws and their origins.  As part of this workshop, you'll taste 6 wines related to the curriculum.

This workshop is the first part of our Certified Specialist of Wine program, but can be taken as a la carté.  If you would like to continue on with the program, your workshop fee will be applied to your program tuition and payment plans are available.
