Roero Arneis DOCG: A Guided Tasting
Discover the elegance of Roero Arneis DOCG with Master Sommelier David Glancy and Francesca Iraldi. Explore European white wines, authentic salumi pairings, and the unique heritage of the Roero appellation.

Discover the elegance and versatility of Roero Arneis DOCG through an exclusive guided tasting dedicated to one of Piedmont's most distinctive white wine appellations. This educational masterclass is part of the European campaign Sip and Savor: Pairing European Wines & Deli Meats, co-funded by the European Union, and is designed for wine professionals and enthusiasts seeking to deepen their understanding of premium European wines and traditional salumi pairings.
Led by Master Sommelier David Glancy, one of the most respected wine educators in North America, together with Francesca Iraldi, Communication Manager of the Consorzio Tutela Roero, the session will explore the unique identity of Roero Arneis DOCG and Roero Arneis Riserva DOCG.
Participants will gain insight into the Roero production area in Piedmont, Italy, where centuries of winemaking tradition, sandy soils and a favorable microclimate produce wines renowned for their freshness, elegance and remarkable gastronomic versatility. The presentation will illustrate the denomination's history, production regulations, viticultural practices and sustainability efforts while highlighting the distinctive characteristics that make Roero Arneis one of Italy's most appreciated native white grape varieties.
A 10-wine tasting will demonstrate how Roero Arneis pairs naturally with a selection of authentic European salumi, showcasing how acidity, aromatic complexity and structure enhance different textures and flavors. Guests will learn practical food and wine pairing techniques that can be immediately applied in restaurants, wine programs and retail recommendations.
Throughout the seminar, attendees will taste a curated selection of wines representing different expressions of the denomination while discussing serving temperatures, aging potential, winemaking styles and commercial opportunities for the U.S. market.
Whether you are a sommelier, buyer, importer, retailer, hospitality professional, or student of wine this masterclass offers a valuable opportunity to strengthen your knowledge of premium European wines while discovering compelling stories behind one of Italy's most prestigious DOCG appellations.
The session concludes with questions and discussion, providing attendees with practical knowledge and market insights that can support purchasing decisions, wine education and customer engagement.
