Washington produces more wine than any state in the US aside from California. We often think of Washington as a place of rainforests and cloudy skies. But its Columbia Valley is a vast growing region with dry weather and long, sunny days that ripen robust red wines.
This class looks at Washington’s terrain and soils, formed by tectonic drift, volcanos and ice age glaciers. Then it covers every AVA in detail, including the Walla Walla Valley which it shares with Oregon.
This is the third unit of the Northwest Wine Appellation Specialist program. As part of this workshop, you'll taste 6-8 wines related to the curriculum.
If you sign up for the entire series, discounts apply and payment plans are available.
We've recently invested in some serious AV technology upgrades to create an integrated Hybrid Room/Zoom experience for all students. Both "Roomers" and "Zoomers" are able to engage with us and each other during these live classes. Recordings are also available after the class. Whether you are excited to return to our beautiful venue in person with wine in your glass or are enjoying the convenience of home learning with a tasting kit, you can choose the experience that's right for YOU!
