Interest in Willamette Valley wines has skyrocketed in recent years. While Oregon produces just 1% of American wine by volume, it accounts for 20% of Wine Spectator magazine's top-rated wines. Most of those are from the Willamette Valley, with its cool-climate Pinot Noir, lean Chardonnay, distinctive Riesling and, now, excellent Gamay.
The Willamette Valley is huge—almost the size of Connecticut. Though it has just three main soil types, the combination of those soils and the mesoclimates resulting from its complex topography give its AVAs unique personalities. This workshop goes into detail on all these elements, plus new AVAs and laws which are pending.
This second unit workshop may be taken as part of our Northwest Wine Appellation Specialist or individually à la carte. Your workshop fees can be applied to the cost of the full series if you would like to continue on. Those who would like to attend workshops online and forgo the wine tastings can apply SKIPTHEWINE at checkout to many online workshops for 40% off. SEE ALL WEBONLY WORKSHOPS

Hybrid - Room/Zoom
We've recently invested in some serious AV technology upgrades to create an integrated Hybrid Room/Zoom experience for all students, so each individual can choose to participate in-person as a "Roomer" with wine in their glass or online as a "Zoomer" with a custom tasting kit. Both Roomers and Zoomers have the same wines and are able to engage with us and each other during these live classes. Recordings are also available within 1 business day after the class.
