Beyond all the different grape varieties and wine regions of the world, how a wine is made makes just as big an impact on what comes out of the bottle. Almost any grape can be made into any style, or category, of wine including sparkling, rosé, and sweet or fortified wines. Our Wines with Style Series explores the very diverse regions, grapes and production methods used in these wine styles and examines how their attributes may be perceived in your glass - blind.
We'll discover how these wines vary, even within their category, based on climate, soils and traditions in various international regions through a curated guided blind tasting in each class. This powerful four-workshop series is eye opening for enthusiasts and a must for professionals and those studying for certification exams.
Over 24 wines will be tasted in all. Each is carefully selected by Master Sommelier David Glancy and our Cellar Master to bring learning objectives to life and practice your blind tasting technique.
Each workshop within the full series can also be taken à la carte as a single workshop. Click on the links to learn more!
*Please note that for the Sparkling Wines of the World workshop only, there will be a different wine selection for Roomers and Zoomers due to the fact that sparkling wines do not preserve well in tasting kits and there is a limited selection of sparkling wines available in 187ml bottles. If you are interested in purchasing full or half bottles from us or elsewhere to supplement the selection we provide, please contact help@sfwineschool.com

Hybrid - Room/Zoom
We've recently invested in some serious AV technology upgrades to create an integrated Hybrid Room/Zoom experience for all students, so each individual can choose to participate in-person as a "Roomer" with wine in their glass or online as a "Zoomer" with a custom tasting kit. Both Roomers and Zoomers have the same wines and are able to engage with us and each other during these live classes. Recordings are also available within 1 business day after the class.
