How Our Live Wine Webinars and Webcasts Work

Learn Wine Online

What's the difference between a Webinar and a Webcast Anyway?

Webinars are designated when everyone in the class is online together.  Webcasts are designated when some people will be attending the class in-person and some will be attending remotely via live web access at the same time.  The technology we use will be the same in both cases, but the experience may be a little different.

During both formats, the presentation slides will be shared on the screen and you can engage with the instructor and other students in the class.  During a webinar, the instructor will be directly in front of their computer camera engaging only with online students.  During a webcast, they will be teaching to the live class and you will be able to view them from a distance. Because they will have students with them live, they won't be able to monitor chat as easily, so we'll ask you unmute yourself and speak up to engage with the live participants.

View our COVID-19 Response Information page for the latest update on in-person / webcast classes.

You will receive a separate email with all you need to know before class!

Be on the lookout about 2 days from your start date (or within 24 hours of registration if you've already signed up within that window). If you have not received an email in this timeframe, please check your spam folder and reach out to help@sfwineschool.com if you still need assistance.

Class access information will be included in the email

All you'll need to do is click the link in the email mentioned above & you'll be sent through to the live webinar/webcast at the specified time.  We encourage you to login 10 minutes early to say hello and get familiar with the technology.
