Description
This fast-paced, comprehensive 2-day intensive program focuses on important foundational areas for personal and professional success including global wine theory, blind wine tasting analysis, food & wine pairing, and professional wine service techniques. Taught by Master Sommelier David Glancy, this class is perfect for students studying for beginning and intermediate level sommelier exams and those who want to improve their performance on the job. This 2-Day course can be broken into two stand-alone à la carte days, or taken as a complete program.
Day 1: Tasting & Service Intensive

Day 2: World Wine Intensive

Certification & Exam
Optional Hospitality Beverage Specialist Certification (HBSC) Exam
Passing this entry level online, on-demand theory exam earns Society of Wine Educators' Hospitality Beverage Specialist Certification.
Important Note: unlike our full Somm Essentials program, the 2-Day Somm Intensive program does not include education on beer, sake, spirits, coffee, tea, & bottled water and additional self-study will be required to pass this exam.

Optional Three-Part Somm Essentials Certification Exam + HBSC Exam
Successful completion of the following exams:

Format & Location
Hybrid - Room/Zoom
Our Hybrid Room/Zoom experience allows each individual to choose to participate in-person as a "Roomer" with wine in their glass or online as a "Zoomer" with a custom tasting kit. Both Roomers and Zoomers have the same wines and are able to engage with us and each other during these live classes. Recordings are also available within 1 business day after the class. Recommendations & Requirements
All attendees must be at least 21 years of age. We recommend students complete Wine 101, Intro to Blind Tasting, or the equivalent prior to taking this program.
