Description
“Champagne is Never Wrong!” – David Glancy
Champagne is not the first sparkling wine of the world but is its most famous and highly regarded. Learn a brief history of bubbly wine, various production methods, regions and styles from various grapes. Discover through a guided blind tasting how it varies based on climate, soils and traditions in various international regions. Despite the differences you will find common threads. This class is a must for sparkling wine lovers and those seeking to improve their wine tasting skills and knowledge. Tasting of 6 wines are included in your registration fee.
This class may be taken as part of our Wine Styles of the World Series or individually

*Please note that for this class, there will be a different wine selection for Roomers and Zoomers due to the fact that sparkling wines do not preserve well in tasting kits and there is a limited selection of sparkling wines available in 187ml bottles. If you are interested in purchasing full or half bottles from us or elsewhere to supplement the selections we provide, please contact help@sfwineschool.com.
Format & Location
Hybrid - Room/Zoom
Our Hybrid Room/Zoom experience allows each individual to choose to participate in-person as a "Roomer" with wine in their glass or online as a "Zoomer" with a custom tasting kit. Both Roomers and Zoomers have the same wines and are able to engage with us and each other during these live classes. Recordings are also available within 1 business day after the class. You will receive the zoom link and any handouts needed a few days before class via email. Check spam and contact help@sfwineschool.com if you have not received it within 1 business day of your class/event.
If you have a tasting kit, it may be picked up at San Francisco Wine School or delivered across the US. Wine parameter lists are available for those participating in locations where kits cannot be delivered. View pickup and delivery options here.
