San Francisco Wine School


Learn about French wine labeling and how it relates to European Union regulations. Next dive into the fascinating Alsace region learning about the history, geography, climate and wines at the French-German border. Until recently this wine region only consisted of three AOCs, but now has 53. The diversity of soil types, grape varieties and wine styles makes for a complicated sensory landscape. Do you know the difference between Klevner and Klevener? The relationship between Pinot Gris, Tokay and Furmint? Can you explain the difference between a Vendanges Tardives and a Selection de Grains Nobles?

This workshop is the first part of the French Wine Scholar program. Your tuition can be applied to the cost of the program if you would like to continue on. As part of this workshop, you'll taste 6-8 wines related to the curriculum.
