Travel the world of Syrah...
Syrah, also known as Shiraz, is a dark-skinned wine grape variety that can taste dramatically different depending on where it's grown. In this workshop, we'll explore the power, elegance and versatility of Syrah/Shiraz and its potential to challenge Cab & Pinot as king of CA reds. Learn its origins, other homes and characteristics. Discover how Syrah varies based on climate, soils and traditions in various international regions through a guided tasting of 6 wines. Despite the differences, you will find common threads.
This workshop may be taken as part of our Wine Grapes of the World Series or individually a la carté. Your workshop fees can be applied to the cost of the full series if you would like to continue on.

Guided Tasting Exercises
Students will enjoy guided tastings selected by Master Sommelier David Glancy and our Cellar Master to bring learning objectives to life and practice your tasting techniques.
Roomers will taste in the classroom. Zoomers will have tasting kits they can either pickup or have delivered for an additional fee. View wine pickup and delivery options.
