Warm Climate Wines of the World
A WARM CLIMATE TOUR: Learn how elevated temperature patterns influence the grapes and wine styles from some of the most well known regions in the world.
Description
In this warm-climate wine class, we'll look for global patterns across the world's warmest wine regions as we travel the world by glass. In this class, we explore ripe wines from warm climates. We'll explore the highlights of Southern France, Southern Italy, Southern Spain, Portugal, Greece, Washington, South America, Australia and South Africa. Our guided tasting of 6-8 classic regional wines will focus on New World vs Old World and traditional examples of Grenache, Syrah, Malbec, Cabernet and Zinfandel.
This class may be taken as part of our Somm Essentials certification program or individually à la carte. Your class fees can be applied to the cost of the program tuition if you would like to continue on. Payment plans are available for the full series. Format & Location
Hybrid - Room/Zoom
Our Hybrid Room/Zoom experience allows each individual to choose to participate in-person as a "Roomer" with wine in their glass or online as a "Zoomer" with a custom tasting kit. Both Roomers and Zoomers have the same wines and are able to engage with us and each other during these live classes. Recordings are also available within 1 business day after the class. You will receive the zoom link and any handouts needed a few days before class via email. Check spam and contact help@sfwineschool.com if you have not received it within 1 business day of your class/event.
If you have a tasting kit, it may be picked up at San Francisco Wine School or delivered across the US. Wine parameter lists are available for those participating in locations where kits cannot be delivered. View pickup and delivery options here.
